No matter what business you are working in, digital technology and IT makes it possible to do your job. Making sure you are conversant in both is essential, because that makes you as a worker a lot more efficient and effective.

  1. A novice may be able to figure out the basics of operating a computer using a mouse, keyboard, and a touchscreen interface. However, the tasks required to accomplish any complex tasks quickly will demand knowledge of your computer’s operating system. There are many operating systems available, including Windows, Mac, and Linux.

  2. How to change the language on a Windows machine – It’s usually possible to configure your Windows machine to operate in any language of your choice. If you know another language and don’t speak it often, though, it’s a good idea to stick with English or the majority language of your workplace.

  3. How to take notes – There are a few different options for taking notes in a document. You can take notes by pen or writing on a keyboard based on what you see in the document. You can also create virtual sticky notes to mark places of interest in a document. However, writing a notebook-like document on your computer is the most common method of note taking.

  4. How to take a screenshot on a Windows machine – If you’re creating a document, you can take a screenshot of the current state of the document and include it in your document. The document will display this list of screenshots when you save your document. If you need more control over how a screenshot displays in your document, you can edit it by clicking on “Edit” and then clicking on “New Screenshot.” This opens a new window with a bunch of different options.

  5. How to connect to the Internet – When you use a computer at work, it may be necessary to get online occasionally to check email, bank accounts, and other necessary information. To connect to the Internet, your computer will need to know how to access the Internet. There are many things you can do to make sure your computer is connected to the internet securely, such as:

  • Setting up the Webcam and microphone,
  • disabling hidden programs,
  • and configuring Internet Explorer to use a secure connection.
